Women In The City Lunch 2010

Roz Morris, Managing Director of TV News London was one of the 350 women attending this year's Women in the City Lunch at Plaisterers' Hall in the City of London.  Roz is pictured with Gwen Rhys (right) the founder of the lunch, which promotes, and rewards female talent in business and aims to empower, inspire and motivate professional businesswomen.

Speakers included Pam Jackson, Partner, Mergers & Acquisitions, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, who won the Women in the City Woman of Achievement Award Winner 2010, sponsored by Barclays.  Pam has done much to advance the progression of women, having been active in the PwC Women's Network and founder in 2003 of both the firm's Female Partner and Director Group, and a successful and thriving company-wide mentoring scheme for women.   Her award prize includes a place on the prestigious Accelerated Development Program at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

Pam Jackson says:

"I am both proud and honoured to have been nominated for this award. It is a testament to PwC and the great people that I work with that I am still as excited by my work as I was when I started in accountancy some 33 yrs ago! The landscape for women in my profession has changed considerably over that time with more and more women achieving senior positions in their firms and a much greater acknowledgment by all that diverse teams, and not just in gender diversity, are more likely to be successful teams. Whilst there are still many challenges ahead, the profile of these awards will help me, and others to promote strong role models. Whether inside or outside of the workplace, we need a strong and diverse talent pool for our future."

Other speakers included WIC Lunch founder, Gwen Rhys, Professor Susan Vinnicombe OBE, Director, Centre for Developing Women Business Leaders at Cranfield University, Fleur Bothwick, Director of Diversity and Inclusiveness, EMEIA, Ernst & Young LLP, who won the Women in the City Parity Award 2010, sponsored by Blackswan, and Felicia Trewin, Senior Manager, Deloitte, who won the WIC 2010 Future Leaders Award. Other award winners were from Zurich Insurance, Barclays Bank, Virgin Management, and PRP Architects Ltd.
