We are all broadcasters now. Whether we’re joining virtual meetings, delivering presentations, recording online content, or speaking to the media, the way we show up on screen has become an essential part of our professional image. Yet many people have never been taught the simple techniques that can help them look and sound more confident, credible and engaging on camera.
That’s exactly what I spoke about at The Paid Up Club members day in Coventry, the business network for coaches and consultants founded by Peter Thomson, one of the UK’s most respected marketing and sales experts and the author of numerous bestselling business books.

During my presentation, I shared practical strategies from The Visual Revolution Guidebook, covering everything from camera positioning and lighting to body language, background setup and on-screen presence. Small changes can make a huge difference to how you’re perceived, helping you build trust, communicate more effectively and stand out in an increasingly digital world.
It was fantastic to see such enthusiasm from the audience, and I’m delighted that my special event offer on my book The Visual Revolution Guidebook completely sold out on the day. It’s encouraging to know that so many business owners recognise the importance of visual communication and are investing in improving how they present themselves online.
The event itself was packed with insight and inspiration. Alongside Peter, attendees heard from expert speakers Darryl James, Phil Olley and Kerrison Preston, who each shared valuable advice and practical experience from their respective fields. The combination of expertise, networking and real-world business knowledge made for an engaging and highly productive day.
A big thank you to Peter and everyone at The Paid Up Club for the invitation and warm welcome. As our professional lives continue to become more visual and more digital, helping people communicate with confidence on screen has never been more important, and events like this are a great reminder of the power of learning from one another.
